Climber, skier, and adventurer Stacy Bare came home from a year with the U.S. Army in Iraq and struggled to find his place back home, leading to issues with addiction and depression. A rock climbing trip saved his life. Since then he's been on a mission to connect all people, not just veterans, to the outdoors.
In 2014, in partnership with the Greater Good Science Center at U.C. Berkeley, he co-founded the Great Outdoors Lab to put evidence-based data behind the notion that time outdoors is good for your health. He will be speaking about his own journey in the outdoors and discussing the case for nature-based treatment.
