The Gods Are Not Happy! A Dark Comedy for Dark Times

SEE EVENT DETAILS
A Dark Comedy for Dark Times. Written by Palo Alto playwright Sharmon J. Hilfinger and directed by Giulio Cesare Perrone, featuring original music by Joan McMillen.

The Gods Are Not Happy! summons a group of gods from cross-cultural legends to save the Earth's climate from global warming, because humans have been too slow to act! They devise a "Silicon Valley solution", enlisting an unexpected pair of humans to help carry out their schemes.

This co-production connects Inferno, BootStrap and our East Bay community to a larger movement in the U.S. to get environmental issues on stage. Climate Change Theater Action and Earth Matters On Stage are two national consortiums promoting this kind of work.
To highlight and celebrate this collaboration, the performance on OCTOBER 26 will be a special event held at the David Brower Center in Berkeley, followed by a panel discussion with representatives from Earth Island Institute, The Center on Race, Poverty and the Environment, and The Greenlining Institute—all East Bay environmental non-profit institutions. We welcome you to join us in this necessary dialogue!

Preview on October 11, opening night October 12. Thursdays-Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 7pm. Tickets available online at infernotheatre.org.
