The future of women’s reproductive health: the need for evidence, innovation, and action
Every woman should have the ability to control her own body and plan her family—whether she lives in San Francisco or Senegal.
Accurate information about sexual and reproductive health—and access to services and family planning options that fit their lives—protect women from unintended pregnancies and other serious threats to their health and well-being, including sexually transmitted infections like HIV and human papillomavirus, which can lead to cervical cancer.
Yet today, more than 225 million women worldwide who want to use modern family planning tools do not have access to them.
And now they face new barriers.
Changes in the global funding landscape affect family planning and a wide range of other sexual and reproductive health services for women at all stages of life—including sex education, menstrual health, maternal health, and HIV prevention and treatment. Without these services, the lives and well-being of women and their children are endangered.
On May 17, We’re bringing together experts from local, national, and global organizations to talk about how innovative and evidence-based approaches can give women control over their sexual and reproductive health—and what you can do to support this basic human right.
