ABOUT “THE DRAGON CHILD”
A story about growth and survival. A story without words. “The Dragon Child” blends Chinese art & culture with puppetry, theatre and animation to tell a story about the impact and challenges to life from relentless human civilization, pollution and diminishing natural resources. “The Dragon Child” was produced by China National Theatre for Children (CNTC) and directed by Peter J. Wilson, the director of the grand opening of the Sydney Olympic Games. CNTC was established in 1956. It’s an unparalleled children theatre, leading development of the entire theatre industry in China.
“The Dragon Child” has been performed hundreds of times in China. It has been introduced to several countries including Austria, Japan and Mexico. It enjoyed great popularity in Colombia where over 35,000 attended throughout seven performances. This will be CNTC’s first performance in the Western U.S.
