Mixing magical realism, movement, text and whimsical, lo-tech effects, Jessica Fudim & The Dance Animals spin storybook tales of loss, longing and the freedom to form a chosen family in the SF International Arts Festival at the Fort Mason Firehouse, June 1, 5pm and June 2, 2pm. Bo Peep wrangles cotton balls and obediently dances to audience instructions as she searches for her flock in Fudim’s dance theater solo, Sheepish, asking: Who are we without the ones we love and how can they be gone when we think we see them everywhere? The story continues with the world premiere of the intergenerational quintet, Frank, in which a sheep braves unfamiliar lands and forest imps to find comfort in the arms of a weary fairy godmother.
The show runs 1-hour with intermission and is family-friendly.
