The Crossing at East Cut, which transformed the 3-plus acre former Temporary Transbay Transit Terminal into a lively community destination, will host its first Holi Festival from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 10 in partnership with TogetherSF and IDEATE SF.
South Asians around the world come together to celebrate Holi, the festival of colors that marks the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. The celebration will feature vibrant colored Holi powders, music, dance, and delicious multicultural food and beverage in the community marketplace. Special performances by Dhol Drums, The Golden Ticket Sounds, BollyX Dance Troop and Butterfly Stilt Walker will entertain guests.
The first 300 signups will receive 1 lb. of free Holi powder. Attendees are encouraged to wear white clothing to reflect the Holi powders sprinkled around the festival space, as well as sunglasses for protection.
Since opening in September 2021, The Crossing at East Cut has delivered much-needed benefits to the neighborhood and beyond while contributing to the reopening of downtown San Francisco. The Holi Festival is another example of the site supporting local businesses and cultures that enrich the city, as well as providing unique programming that creates opportunities for the community to gather with family and friends to celebrate diverse cultural events.
