Saturday, July 27, 2-5pm
We each have our story of how we arrived to our first yoga class. But as our learning unfolds, the larger scope of yoga beyond postures can remain elusive. A basic understanding of all eight aspects (limbs or petals) of yoga can infuse our practice with a deeper sense of purpose and meaning in what we do and more importantly, how and why we do it. In this extended session, foundation philosophical concepts will be presented and practically examined through asana, pranayama, and the threshold of meditation — all to offer a more comprehensive experience and understanding of the 8 petals of yoga.
“Our sadhana consists of a process of dynamic and progressive efforts, through the various aspects of asthanga yoga, until we reach samadhi, the effortless state which is the mark of a stable intelligence (sthitaprajna).” - Geeta S. Iyengar
It is recommended that students have at least 1-year of consistent Iyengar Yoga experience. If you feel qualified otherwise, please contact the instructor.
