The Barrel Room restaurant and wine bar in Rockridge will host a neighborhood social on Sunday, June 21 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Street tacos will be served outside and glasses of wine will be offered for $6.00 and beer for $5.00.
Proprietors/sommeliers Sarah Trubnick and Carolyn Johnson opened The Barrel Room in the East Bay in December of 2013 (and The Barrel Room San Francisco in 2011) and have become known for their wine-friendly eclectic cuisine prepared by Chef Manuel Hewitt with a menu that varies on a quarterly basis with regional focuses that include, but are not limited to, Latin America, France, Germany, Austria, Italy and the United States. A hallmark of The Barrel Room is their commitment to seeking out hard-to-find wines from around the world. The wine list features an extensive selection of educational flights arranged by region, varietal or flavor profile, all appropriate for pairing with the current regional food focus.
Highlights of the engaging 30-seat Barrel Room dining room's "rustic modern" décor include old growth redwood accents, panels and facings; a rich brown and cream color scheme; redwood-topped tables and bar; bench seating; a pressed tin ceiling; pendant lights over the bar; and a polished concrete floor.
