The 2016 Mill Valley Wine, Beer & Gourmet Food Tasting is right around the corner and this annual fundraiser is looking more exciting and delicious than ever! Bringing together community, the Wine & Gourmet attracts aficionados from around the Bay Area for one of the most enjoyable wine and food events of the year. 70 wineries, 30 gourmet food products, 10 restaurants and 5 breweries will participate in beautiful downtown Mill Valley.
WINERIES
Over 70 wineries are participating this year including Brooks Note Winery – small case production, hard to find; Clouds Rest, another hard to find producer of Pinots; Rhone varietals from Halcon Vineyards; Russian River’s Mueller Winery with Pinots and Chardonnays. Some of the returning favorites include Boeger Winery, Handley Cellars, an Anderson Valley star, Honig Vineyard sauvignon blancs; varietals from Spain and France, grown in CA, and Speedy Creek Winery, Knights Valley Cabs. Many more wineries will be represented at the event ---Far Niente, MacRostie, Hollys Hill, Cazadero Winery, Carica Wines, to name a few plus imports from Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain and Argentina will round out the day’s wine tasting!!!
CRAFT BEERS
For beer lovers, a great choice of refreshing brews will be on hand from 3rd Street Aleworks (Santa Rosa), Devoto Orchard Cider (Sebastapol), Headlands Brewing Company (Mill Valley), Fort Point Brewing, Lagunitas, and Trumer Brauerei from Berkeley.
GOURMET FOOD PRODUCERS
Delicious tastes to please the palette will be available from fresh made breads to olive oils, cheeses, granolas, pies, cookies, crackers and hot sauces, many from local producers. Local food producers this year include Silk Road Teas (Mill Valley); and Shamrock Artisan Goat Cheese – local, family-owned dairy. Inna Shrub (non-alcoholic vinegar based drink/cocktail alternative); and Pugs Leap Cheese (small production, local artisan.)
RESTAURANTS
Local participating restaurants will be offering up some mouth-watering samples of their most popular dishes. Piazza d’Angelo, Grilly’s (chicken taco salad & burritos), Balboa Café; La Ginestra; Tony Tutto Pizza; El Paseo; Prabh Indian Kitchen; Bungalow 44 (kickin’ fried chicken); Sol Food; Sweetwater Music Hall & Café (soup shooters, sliders, spring rolls, scones).
Proceeds from the 2016 Wine & Gourmet benefit the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce and Kiddo! the Mill Valley Schools Community Foundation.
Complimentary valet bicycle parking will once again be provided by the Marin Bicycle Coalition and sponsored by Tam Bikes in Mill Valley.
