Technology That Makes Your Life Better

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at SP2 COMMUNAL BAR + RESTAURANT (see times)
The wearable business is gaining momentum and is one of the most exciting markets in the tech industry. The surging wearable tech industry is centered in the Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area, where mostly smaller start-ups design their products locally. Wearable technology is all the rage but the race is just beginning and we are seeing some very, very big leaps this year.

Tech in Motion is proud and excited to have guest speakers from Pebble, the "original" smart watch! The Pebble smart watch is the most successful Kickstarter project of all time. Pebble is a customizable watch. Pebble puts critical apps and notifications on your wrist, giving you immediate access to what's most important. See who is calling or get the most important emails and texts without having to pull your phone out in the middle of the meeting.

Please join Workbridge Associates and Jobspring Partners as we host our monthly Tech In Motion Event. Whether you are a developer or designer, want to learn more about wearable tech and the design challenges that they face, or just enjoy networking, you won’t want to miss this event with Pebble! Everyone is welcome and don’t forget to bring a friend for a night of drinks, networking, and talk about the next 'must have' in tech!

Following each speaker's presentation, we will open up the floor for Q & A.

6:00 - 6:45: Drinks and networking

6:45 - 7:15: Omar presenting

7:15 - 7:45: Thomas presenting

7:45 – 8:00: Myriam presenting

8:00 – 9:00: More networking and lots of talk about Pebble :)

Here is a little bit more about our speakers:

Omar Younis, Lead Designer, has been designing user experiences for over a decade. He ran one of the internet's most popular fan pages for the TV show ‘The Simpsons’ after teaching himself web design at the age of 14. Omar was introduced to designing UI for phones while working at Sprint in Kansas City and has never left the mobile playground since. From the core UI of ancient smartphones, to the Nook Color eReader from B&N, Omar has designed for a wide range of mobile platforms and devices - most recently helping define the next wave of mobile computing at Pebble. His time off is spent in areas with far fewer iPhones per square foot.

Thomas Sarlandie, Developer Evangelist, grew up in France with a passion for computers and the Internet. In Europe, Thomas co-founded and was CTO of Backelite, French leading mobile development agency. Thomas moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2012 and a few months later joined Pebble as Developer Evangelist to define the future of wearable computing!

Myriam Joire, Product Evangelist, was born wearing combat boots and holding a keyboard; moments later she picked up a soldering iron. She's been stomping, typing and hacking ever since. After spending years being a code-monkey in the video game industry, she joined Engadget as senior mobile editor. She recently joined Pebble as the product evangelist.

Parking: There is free parking on the street around SP2 Bar + Restaurant after 6pm and there is parking validation machines located in San Pedro Square Market.
