Tech to Reduce Human Suffering: Learn and Mastermind with Investor Bo Shao

For the past few decades, technology has been create to make our lives simpler, and easier, and yet suffering, depression, and anxiety has continued to rise during this time.
This week we have Bo Shao, founder of Matrix Partners and Evolve Foundation, speaking about how technology can be used to help reduce human suffering and increase human well-being. You'll learn from someone who not only has an incredible personal story and journey through consciousness, but is also funding entreprenuers and startups with multiple funds (his newest $100million fund is going toward a Conscious Accelerator). 
After Bo's talk we want audience members to lead breakout groups, which can include delving deeper into specific conversation topics, brainstorming app ideas, design masterminding, or just to get to know one another. Invite your entrepreneur friends or friends who are looking to do good in the tech world!

Bo is a founding managing partner of Matrix China, a leading technology venture capital firm in China with three billion dollars under management. In addition, Bo is a co-founder of BabyTree, the leading parenting brand and community in China with over 200 million unique users a month, and a co-founder and Chairman of Nuance Biotech. From the inception of Matrix China in 2007 to 2017, Bo made Series A investments into a dozen startups, five of which have grown to be worth over a billion dollars. Recently, Bo co-founded evolve.foundation to support and invest in enterprises that increase self-awareness, reduce internal suffering and evolve the human consciousness.
Prior to his current positions, Bo was the founder and CEO of EachNet, which became the dominant consumer e-commerce company in China under his leadership and was acquired by eBay (NASDAQ: EBAY) in 2003 in a landmark transaction.
Bo was born in China and was a winner of national mathematics competitions over a dozen times during high school. He left China when he was 17 years old for Harvard College on a full scholarship, one of the first such scholarships Harvard granted to a person from mainland China. After receiving a BA, summa cum laude, in physics and electrical engineering from Harvard College, he worked for the Boston Consulting Group and Goldman Sachs, and received his MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Bo is a recognized young business leader in China and the recipient of awards in China and abroad, including Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum and Entrepreneur of the Year 2003 by Asian Venture Capital Journal.
