Taste for the Cure 2019: A Taste of Science

Please join the UCSF Carol Franc Buck Breast Care Center at the 2019 Taste for the Cure: A Taste of Science, an informational community event to complement patient care. This is a day of exploring food, science, and breast health. This educational event is free and open to all.

10:00 am:    Integrating Care and Research to Bring Better Treatment Today
                     Panelists: Allison Stover Fiscalini, Amrita Basu, Heather Greenwood, Scarlett Gomez
                     Moderator: Laura Esserman
 
11:00 am:    Science Demonstration
 
11:30 am:    Resources o Scientific Posters o Tastings o Hands-on Science
                     Including: Ask your Pathologist with Ron Balassanian
 
12:30 pm:   Cooking Demonstration
                     Alison Mountford
 
1:00 pm:     The Changing Landscape of Breast Cancer Treatment
                     Panelists: Laura van 't Veer, Merisa Piper, Mike Campbell, Rita Mukhtar
                     Moderator: Laura Esserman

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

JCCSF
https://www.jccsf.org/the-center/a-community-space/parking-garage/
The JCC will provide a special event flat parking rate of $18. To receive this rate either pay at the JCCSF desk inside, or when you exit the JCCSF parking garage mention "UCSF Taste for Cure." Should you attend the event for less than 3.5 hours (from the time you park to when you exit) it will be cheaper for you to pay the regular $2.75/half hour parking rate, and you should pay as you exit the garage. The no-discounted daily maximum rate is $35.00.

UCSF Laurel Heights
10-3 California street gate will be open, Laurel street gate is always openPublic parking to the left as you enter on California street, but OK to park in permit area on weekend, just be sure to pay. UCSF Permit holders can park in LH lot
Weekend rate 7AM-6PM $7 (flat) -  Pay by machine or telephone

Street Parking
Parking meters need to be fed
You may be able to find free all-day parking in the weekday two hr. zones

You may want to bring a reusable water bottle to fill at the JCCs water fountain at the end of the restroom hallway on the first floor, or at their filtered "fountains" on the second floor at the top of the grand staircase.
