"Tasha Builds A Desk" is a new experimental one act, one woman play. Tasha, a recent college dropout, has to assemble a frightfully complicated piece of furniture as she snaps in and out of lucidity. Her relationships with herself, her friends and family, and higher education all come into question as she tries to assess her own culpability for an atrocity she's been publicly accused of.
The play is devised by Grace Steckler (she/her), a rising senior at the UNCSA School of Drama. She has been developing it throughout the 2022-23 school year as an independent study project, and she is so thrilled to be bringing it to Cinnabar after a run at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. It is directed and produced by her classmates Sofie Berg (she/they) and Jack Eld (he/him).
The content of the play is advised for ages 14+, as the piece includes profanity and discussions of death.
