Seth Asarnow y su sexteto tipico transports the listener to the culture and history of tango in Buenos Aires, and pays special homage to the greatest tango orchestras in Argentina. Renowned for replicating the sounds of the tango orchestras of the 30’s and 40's, the sextet is lauded by native Argentineans. There are few groups (if any) in the United States that put so much effort and passion in preserving the sounds of the “golden era” of tango. The group also performs more contemporary arrangements of well known tango pieces (Piazzolla, Adrover, etc.) Locally grown from a thriving Argentine Tango community in San Francisco, this extraordinary sextet gives the Bay Area another reason to be considered one of the best destinations in the world to experience the music and dance of tango.
