Using the Tamalpa Life/Art Process and Movement Ritual, this class focuses on developing fundamental tools of kinesthetic/body awareness, movement invention, and exploring the individual’s creative potential in dance. Whether in preparation for performance, personal growth, or just to have fun, these classes will help cultivate the skills to develop innovative choices in scoring, movement, and improvisation. Dancers of all levels are welcome!
Iu-Hui Chua choreographs, performs, directs, and devises physical theater, dance, and video performance. She is a Tamalpa Institute Practitioner and teaches in Marin and the East Bay. She has presented her work at the San Francisco International Arts Festival, Apature, Asian American Dance Performances, San Francisco Art Institute, ODC, Yugen Presents, Somafest (L.A.), Highways Performance Space (L.A.), Sea Ranch and various site-specific locations in the U.S., Asia and Europe. As a performer she has been a dancer with Anna Halprin, Ledoh and Salt Farm, Dandelion Dancetheater, Headmistress, Plaza, and Labayen Dance. She has created award winning dance films including "All Flesh is Grass" with Terre Parker and "Nexus" with Christine Germain.
