Tallow Soap Making Workshop

Take a step back in time and learn to make traditional and nourishing soaps use organic oils and locally sourced beef tallow. Indulge in a "slow body care" movement.
In this class, you will be shown how to make high-quality cold processed soaps using local grass-fed beef tallow, sodium hydroxide, local extra virgin olive oil, herbs and organic essential oils.
Each student will leave with an understanding of how to make cold processed soap and a handout with recipes and step-by-step instructions. Students will also take home three different soaps that they custom decorate with herbs or flowers. The soaps are: Charcoal; Vetiver; and Desert Rose. These are traditional soaps that leave the skin feeling clean, soft and exceptionally nourished.
Special Instructions: Students are advised to wear long sleeves.
Bites from the Palette menu and a wine pairing will be offered during the workshop. Cost: $75


Megan Bre Camp is the founder of Summer Solace Tallow, an artisan line of organic tallow balms, soaps and candles handcrafted in Oakland, California. Megan is a Bay Area cook and organic gardener passionate about sustainable living, eating seasonally, locally, and using good organic ingredients and traditional techniques in all facets of her work. She obtains grass-fed beef suet from local family farms which she renders into buttery tallow that is then infused with local, wild harvested herbs, organic essential oils, and local olive oil, thus creating a nourishing, remarkable skin care products!

Early registration is recommended as space is limited.No children under the age of 10.Ticket purchases are non-refundable.
