Lady Washington is a full-scale replica of the original ship of the same name, which was the first American vessel to make landfall on the West Coast of North America, Japan, and Honolulu. King Kamehameha was a partner in the ship. It has also appeared in several motion pictures and television shows, including “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,” “Star Trek: Generations,” “Once Upon A Time,” and “Revolution.” The vessel sails to nearly 40 different ports each year between British Columbia and San Diego.
Hawaiian Chieftan launched on July 7, 1988 in Lahaina, Oahu, Hawaii. Commissioned by Laurence H. “Baron” Dorcy, Jr., and constructed by Drake Thomas, owner of Lahaina Welding Co, its design is based on 19th century packet ships used to ferry cargo in small ports because of their shallow draft.
Sailing guests will embark on a three-hour tall ship sailing experiences. Adventure and Battle Sails feature sailing as it was done for hundreds of years. Join in a sea shanty, enjoy breathtaking views, and meet the modern day crew that travels the west coast.
A ticket is required for all passengers, including babies. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments are not provided, but you are welcome to bring your own (no glass please). Accessibility is addressed on a case-by-case basis, so please talk to us ahead of time to be sure we can accommodate your needs.
