Husband-and-wife restaurateurs Anthony Myint and Karen Leibowitz take over the museum and share the ideas, strategies and motivations behind The Perennial, a new restaurant and bar dedicated to environmental sustainability. This TAKEOVER illuminates the impact of food and drinks on the environment and how our consumption choices can actually help reverse climate change. Along with some of their favorite partners and fellow environmental food pioneers, the pair will present an evening of ideas, conversation and questions. Interactive stations will unpack the carbon footprint of common ingredients and the climate change potential of perennial plants, and seven short-short films made in collaboration with artist Wendy MacNaughton will be screened. During an onstage presentation, Myint, Leibowitz and other experts on food and the environment will answer audience questions.
Drinks by The Perennial's bar director Jennifer Colliau and bread baked in-house by pastry chef Nicola Carey will also be available, while supplies last.
