Take the Plunge - Learn About Your City’s Urban Watersheds (Lunchtime Presentation)

SEE EVENT DETAILS
at San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) (see times)
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) invites you to a lunchtime presentation about the history and future of San Francisco’s Channel and Northshore Urban Watersheds. Covering the northeast portion of the city, the Channel and Northshore Urban Watersheds transport millions of gallons of rainwater in large storms to one of the City’s three treatment plants. Most of this water flows in a network of sewer pipes running along the path of historic creeks, marshes, wetlands, and throughout the city below our streets. Learn about the challenges our sewer system is facing and discover how the SFPUC’s Urban Watershed Assessment will plan for the next 20 years of sewer system upgrades from the Presidio to the Haight Ashbury, Castro, SOMA and the Mission neighborhoods. Upgrades will include major pipe improvements and innovative green infrastructure projects.

Where: SFPUC Headquarters, 525 Golden Gate Avenue, 2nd Floor, O’Shaughnessy Conference Room

Come hungry to learn and eat – lunch will be provided! Please RSVP in advance to reserve your spot. RSVP: http://channelnorthshorelunchtimepresentation.eventbrite.com

Can't make it to this lunch time presentation? No problem! You'll have another opportunity to attend this presentation on the evening of May 22nd from 6:00pm-7:00 p.m., at 525 Golden Gate Avenue, 2nd Floor.

This is a great opportunity to learn about your watersheds in advance of playing the SFPUC’s award-winning Urban Watershed Planning Game on Saturday, June 1 at SPUR. Help us plan the future of San Francisco’s sewer system. For more information, visit https://www.sfwater.org/urbanwatersheds or email [email protected].
