Your chef's apron can change the world! Join Rising International as it proudly debuts its new Amani Apron for men at Rising International's Sweatshop Free Labor Day Super Sale. Inspired by local Monterey Chef Tony Baker, this apron is perfect for everything from working the BBQ grill to working a professional kitchen. The aprons are hand made in the Democratic Republic of Congo by women who are conflict and trauma survivors, and the sale of one apron provides precious income to send a child to school for a month. Back to School never felt so good!
In addition to the debut of the Amani Apron, Rising International will feature special savings on fairly traded jewelry, home furnishing and fashion accessories all made by women business owners in over 30 countries. Socially conscious bargain shoppers can make this Labor Day a sweatshop free day.
Rising International is also proud to introduce its new line of Fair Trade coffee! Produced by the SOPACDI Women's Cooperative in the Kivu region of the Congo, the Congo Bourbon coffee is Certified Fair Trade, Certified Organic, and roasted by the Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting. This collaboration is a follow up to Rising International's highly successful Rwanda Abakundakawa Coffee project. Both projects are sourced, roasted, and entirely made possible by the good people at Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting.
Proceeds from the sale help raise more funds to support more artisans out of extreme poverty.
