Raised on a diet of underground house music in the legendary confines of New York’s Twilo during the late 1990s, David Scuba has now emerged as one of California’s most in demand DJs spinning the world over. At the same time as holding down an arduous day job, David somehow manages to produce music, throw events, DJ worldwide, book talent, book Superfreq into festivals & still find time to be everybody's favorite Uncle Scoobs. It’s called dedication.
David is co-owner of Superfreq with Mr.C where he holds down resident DJ duties on a regular basis. An inventive & exciting turntable technician, David’s DJ talents spread much further afield, taking in events across the globe including WMC, DEMF, Burning Man, Resolute New York, Desert Hearts, Superfreq London & Superfreq’s on-going annual residency at BPM Festival in Mexico, playing alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Nic Fanciulli, M.A.N.D.Y, Lee Burridge, Claude Vonstroke, Doc Martin, Marc Houle, Inxec, Bushwacka, Jay Tripwire, Kate Simko, Chloé, DJ T, Simon Baker & Nitin to name just a few.
David coordinates Superfreq events in Los Angeles having thrown events at Avalon, Sound, Le Jardin, Los Globos, Dim Mak & a host of underground warehouse & villa parties. David is also working with Mr.C on hosting Superfreq in London with recent events at Fabric, The Steelyard & various underground pop-up warehouse spaces in the English capitol. As well as producing & releasing a multitude of his own solo tracks and remixes for Superfreq, David has released music on Riff Raff, Desert Hearts, Veryverywrongindeed, Design Forms, We Are Here Music, AA Trax, LW Recordings, Carrillo Music, NOSI Music, Family Grooves, Motek & Compatible Music.
David has his new collaboration EP with Dance Spirit, a remix for Mr.C & also his own solo EP due for release in 2017 on Superfreq, all demonstrating that David has become an essential producer of darkened club beats that really stand-out, rising above the norm in a globally oversaturated market.
They say that the cream always rises to the top & this is definitely the case for David Scuba who’s future as an ever-rising star is huge, as clearly demonstrated with his recent ascension on a global level.
