Founded for the Millennium Summer Solstice of 2001, Summer Sailstice is a global holiday to take advantage of the longest daylight hours of the year and celebrate the sailing lifestyle with waterfront activities.
Sailors worldwide sign up to share their diverse experiences on the water. In recent years, with 4900 sailors registering their events on the international website, over 19,000 people spent the Sailstice in organized sailing events and competed for hundreds of prizes offered through the Sailstice Website.
At the Docks: The Tall Ship ALMA, Master Mariners, a Small Boat Regattas, Junior Sailing and public boat rides, plus a one-class cruise-in. The Encinal Docks will be very busy with boaters, racers and all things sail and boating this day.

At the Pool: Life Jacket Races, Boat Building Competition, Gutter Races and live music throughout the day...food and drink will abound.
On-the-water Demonstrations: US Coast Guard and Alameda Fire Department, plus a couple of new and interesting exhibitions.
Speakers: We have several interesting speakers coming to present their adventures, both past and future, as well as informational seminars relevant to boaters and the boating community.
