Join Guadalupe River Park Conservancy and Gardening Instructor Sherri Bohan for a wonderful Summer Gardening workshop! Expand your current knowledge about gardening to create a beautiful, healthy, easy care, water-wise outdoor space for you to enjoy. Beginning and experienced gardeners will enjoy learning methods that are environmentally and user friendly.
Sherri Bohan is a local professional gardener with degrees in Ornamental Horticulture and Natural Resources, in addition to 16 years teaching gardening classes with a state teaching credential.
Class 1 (May 17th): Soil – building beautiful soil to grow healthy organic plants.
No Class ( May 24th) – Memorial Day Weekend
Class 2 (May 31st): Vegetables and Flowers – seeds and plants for warm season gardening.
Class 3 (June 7th): Water Wise Gardening – water saving irrigation, the best mulches and native gardens.
Class 4 (June 14th): Home Composting – leaf and food composting, bin placement and container gardening.
Class 5 (June 21st): Preventing and Controlling Pests – healthy plants, natural enemies, cultural practices and sustainable methods of control.
Class 6 (June 28th): Plant Nutrition Basics – feeding organically to grow healthy soil and microorganisms for strong plants.
All programs take place at the Guadalupe Visitor & Education Center, 438 Coleman Ave in San Jose. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited. For more information or to register, visit grpg.org or call 408-298-7657.
