About the Artist: Collin Pollard (b. 1994) is a visual artist currently living and working in San Jose, California. He earned his MFA in Studio Art from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2020 and received the "Most Outstanding Graduate Student in Photography" award that same year. While his work is centered around photography, he borrows language from painting, sculpture, and collage. He creates mixed media paintings, photographs and videos that explore the line between the physical world and the ways in which it is digitally represented. For his first solo exhibition in the United States, Pollard has drawn inspiration from his current surroundings of suburban San Jose, California. The exhibition consists of mixed media paintings which touch upon the vastness of digital space juxtaposed with the representation of the natural landscape, alongside photographic works which emphasize the textures that can be found in almost all new construction happening in the Bay Area. Pollard has exhibited his artwork throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, in Los Angeles, Kansas, and more recently in Times Square, New York City. You can find more of his work on his website.
