Enspyre33 LLC is a black-owned business in downtown Oakland that encourages healthy habits, personal development and partnership through the love of basketball. CEO Chad Briscoe is a native of the Bay Area and a former professional basketball player and collegiate All-American player as well as the inventor of Ball by Yourself ®, the world's first three-in-one detachable basketball and fitness training tool.
In partnership with the Oakland Police Department, Enspyre33 will host "Straps over Straps Gun Violence & Awareness Basketball Camp," a free one-day community event, in response to a 16-year record-breaking number of deaths due to gun violence in Oakland and surrounding communities. Together, they will work to curb the violence and create alternative solutions for youths 6-13 years old.
The one-day event will host up to 100 youths from urban underserved communities in Oakland, ages 6-13 for skill development, mentorship and community togetherness while playing basketball and meeting the men and women in public service. There will be a DJ and guest speakers. In addition, Chad Briscoe has partnered with Bay Area Celebrity Chef Aminah Robinson aka "Chef Mimi" to educate the youth on healthy eating and the importance of how the proper foods are fuel for our bodies.
Enspyre33's goal is to work with Oakland Police Department and other community service agencies to unite in solidarity with youth in response to the record-breaking number of death due to gun violence.
