Storytelling: Exploring Our Own Narratives & Personal Mythology

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Storytelling is at the tip of everyone's tongue. From The Moth to the Harvard Business Review, everyone is telling us that ‘storytelling’ is the most powerful tool we have to connect and inspire. But what does it mean to craft and share your own authentic story?

This workshop will investigate 'Personal Mythology' or the stories we carry about our experiences that provide the core 'myths' that drive our behavior and decisions. It's a powerful tool for personal growth, leadership, and community building.

Through interactive exercises and peer learning, we’ll examine our own decision-making in how we share our narratives and the process that builds connections, fosters incredible community, and invites others to find and share their voices.

Over the course of 90 minutes, we will:

Reconnect with the central role story has played in your own life;

Explore your power of storytelling through basic neuroscience and physiological impact;

Highlight the process of finding, crafting, and sharing a story connected to an emotion;

Learn a simple and shockingly powerful methodology to help you find, share, and realize the power of your stories.

By the end of our time together, we will all have an expanded understanding of what each of our stories entails and why it is so powerful. Also, we will have fun.

Who is it for?
This workshop is for folks who work in tech, community builders, fundraisers, talent and culture leaders, and any human who finds themself in the position of communicating with other humans. It is appropriate for experienced speakers and storyslingers as well as folks who are curious and just want to learn more. All are welcome!
