StorySlam Oakland Presents: Where there's a will, there's a way
A Night of True Stories and Good Food
Doors open: 6:30 PM. Stories will begin at 7:30.
Think of a story from your life when you persevered by sheer will. You overcame some obstacle, or some person who said you couldn't do it. They said it was impossible, you said, Watch Me.
Maybe you were the one who thought it couldn't be done -- but then you found a way. Maybe you tried everything and the most random thing worked. Tell us that story. Big or small, as long as it's 5 minutes or less.
Rules: Put your name in the hat for a chance to tell. Stories must be true, about YOU, and 5 minutes or less. We'll have a timer to keep you on track. No reading or notes allowed. You'll tell it like you're telling friends around a dinner table.
Or just listen and laugh. We'll have time to hear about 8 to 10 open-mic storytellers. (Note: not all stories may be funny. Sometimes the struggle is real!)
