Science and technology are truly ubiquitous and beneficial, but they do little to point us toward deep flourishing.
With digital connectivity today, rates of loneliness and depression continue to skyrocket.
What if we applied our incredible engineering capacity toward our inner world?
What if we took an innovation approach to spirituality itself, and redesigned it for a modern secular context?
What if tech that provided the benefit of 10,000 hours of meditation was as accessible as cell phones?
Can we hack consciousness itself?
Tonight, Mikey - founder of Consciousness Hacking - will go over top trends in the Transformative Technology space, followed by a set of questions developed for his Stanford class that get at the fuzzy and sometimes provocative boundaries of this emerging intersection of tech and spirituality. The second half of the evening will be an open conversation hosted by Mikey, and led by the flow of the evening.
Consciousness Hacking (CH) is a global movement with local chapters that host events around the world. There's a growing tide of wellness-related technologies coming to market, that focus on consciousness and well-being, like meditation apps, wearables devices that monitor your breathing patterns, and more.
We'll explore:
(1) Consciousness Hacking
(2) Emerging trends, for better or worse
(3) Questions that define the space via small group discussion.
Mikey Siegel is a robotics engineer turned consciousness hacker. He is the founder of founder of Consciousness Hacking, BioFluent Technologies, and the Transformative Technology Conference.
Mikey envisions a present and future where science and technology support psychological, emotional and spiritual flourishing. Where our devices not only connect us to information, but also connect us to ourselves and each other, acting as a catalyst for individual and collective awakening.
He is currently teaching at Stanford University, and serving on the board of Trustees of the California Institute of Integral Studies. He received an MS in robotics from the MIT Media Lab.
