Startup Showcase in Collaboration With the UCSF Entrepreneurship Center

This coming September 11th, the Columbia Norcal Alumni Club will host our very first Startup Showcase in collaboration with the UCSF Entrepreneurship Center.
The event will open with a fireside chat with Stephanie Marrus (Columbia University, MA), Director of UCSF Entrepreneurship Center, a focal point for the life science entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Silicon Valley.
The Startup Showcase will be a platform for Columbia alumni startup founders to network with other alumni, gain marketing exposure, and discover potential recruiting and investment opportunities. 

General Admission Tickets purchased through Eventbrite are free. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Speaker bio: 

Stephanie Marrus has built an entrepreneurial ecosystem at UCSF that is succeeding in its goal to start life science/healthcare companies. Since joining from the private sector, she has brought business expertise and startup energy to the University, resulting in a vibrant startup scene symbolic of Silicon Valley. Her entrepreneurship courses and programs mirror those of Berkeley and Stanford but with a life science focus and attract top resources from the Valley. Her accelerator provides additional resources to promising ventures.
Prior to UCSF, she had an extensive business career that included C-suite roles in life science companies. Stephanie has worked with over 1000 companies in science and technology based industries as member of the management team, business consultant or mentor. Many of these companies have their technological roots at Berkeley, Stanford, UCSF, MIT and Harvard. She has had roles as CEO, COO and VP Business Development for public and private venture capital backed companies, led partnering and M&A transactions, headed corporate development, strategy, marketing, communications and investor relations. Her sector experience is in information technology and life sciences/healthcare. Her consulting activity through SV Global Consultants includes working with companies in the roles of strategist and business development; as well as with international entities who want to learn Silicon Valley style entrepreneurship.
Stephanie has taught and consulted on entrepreneurship with the US State Department, foreign government backed entities and universities globally. She has taught in Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa and enjoys bringing her Silicon Valley expertise to the global scene. She participates in the State Department's International Speaker Program. Her AB is from Cornell University, MA from Columbia University and MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
