Nighttime provides us with some spectacular views and a relaxing experience that can remind us to slow down and breathe, far away from the stress and lights of the city. To celebrate California State Parks Week, we invite you to enjoy stargazing from the Meadow Trail in Hendy Woods State Park. With the aid of telescopes, we can see distant stars, planets, and deep-sky objects that will amaze you. Guests will learn about our solar system and the constellations visible throughout the northern hemisphere.
Hot cocoa will be offered while supplies last, and picnic blankets will be available for check-out to allow you the best view of the night sky. Guests should come prepared with camp chairs and flashlights, and dressed in layers as our nighttime temperature drops. There is an $8 day-use fee per car for entry to the park.
