We the Algerian community of the San Francisco Bay Area cannot sit idly by in California and not be concerned about what happens in our home country. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Today, we are standing in unison with our people in Algeria and elsewhere expressing our indignation at the degradation of democracy, freedom of speech and civil liberties in Algeria.
