St. Anne of the Sunset

Religion , Church

For over a hundred years St. Anne of the Sunset has been the spiritual heart of the Sunset. St. Anne includes the cathedral, pre-school, elementary, and middle school. St. Anne School is one of the top performing K-8 schools in the Bay Area with graduates going onto Lowel, SI, SHC, and SOTA.

St. Anne hosts community celebrations, blood drives, and the annual October Harvest Festival. It is the site of the annual St. Anne Novena held every July and has hosted luminaries and saints such as Mother Theresa. Rebuilt after the Great San Francisco earthquake, the cathedral is a rose colored, Romanesque-revival building completed in 1933, and stands the largest Catholic church in the western half of San Francisco.
