Special Event with John Cleese and Filmmakers

Greetings!

The stars are aligning for Changing of the Gods: Planetary and Human Revolutions, the provocative new movie I’m producing, and I want to extend a personal invitation to you to participate in a very special private event on September 16th at 7pm at the Clay Theater in San Francisco.

I will host a dynamic conversation about the movie among the film's creative team: our on-screen principal investigator and narrator John Cleese of Monty Python fame, our globally acclaimed director Louie Schwartzberg, and celebrated author Richard Tarnas, on whose groundbreaking book Cosmos and Psyche the film is based. Our emcee for the evening will be Bioneers Executive Director Joshua Fouts. We’ll show an exclusive preview of clips from the amazing interviews we’ve already done, and invite a dialogue with you, our community, followed by a book signing with our team. Also on hand will be Bill and Laurie Benenson, who are producing the movie with me.

As the world hurtles into the vortex of epic change, we board the vehicle of archetypal astrology to chronicle a transformational journey. The movie explores Richard Tarnas’ deep historical research into the cycles of “world transits” of the planets Uranus and Pluto (2007-2020), the archetypal astrological picture for “revolutionary transformation.” Each time this planetary configuration has recurred, a zeitgeist has manifested in concentrated periods of revolution, paradigm shifts, breakdown and breakthrough that have irrevocably changed the course of the world on mass scales.

The most recent Uranus-Pluto cycle occurred from 1960-1972, the famous ‘60s, and the cycle coincides with extraordinary consistency with many such periods in history, which the movie will show. Here’s the really big idea of the movie, and the reason we call it “the greatest story never told.” If planetary pictures coincide with archetypal mass shifts in human affairs, it suggests that the cosmos is saturated with a profoundly powerful form of intelligence, reflecting some kind of universal consciousness capable of communicating both meaning and purpose. That consciousness speaks in an archetypal language intelligible to human beings.

Both Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell ultimately concluded that archetypes inform more than a solely human “collective unconscious.” They appear to be embedded in a collective psyche inherent in the cosmos itself, an anima mundi. Jung reached this conclusion after over forty years of research that included his close tracking of synchronicities and his patients’ astrological birth charts.
This archetypal consciousness appears to be highly participatory by nature, a co-creative dance. The more we can be aware of these archetypal and unconscious forces, the less we become the object of them, and the more we can work with them. Our lives are not fate, but choice.
