Seated Tribute & Tasting Experience with Tasting & Book Signing Reception
San Francisco Wine School is honored to welcome the founder of Broadbent Selections and Broadbent Ltd, Bartholomew Broadbent, on the afternoon of Sunday, January 26th as we celebrate the life and career of his father, Michael Broadbent, Master of Wine and famed British wine critic, auctioneer, and prolific author.
In this exclusive event, Bartholomew will share the history of his father's passion for wine, the journey that lead him to become a famed author and his celebrated title Wine Tasting. We'll also explore the influences Michael imparted on his son as he created his own impressive career as a global wine importer and cap off the seated seminar with a guided tasting of 8 wines which connected their lives, as Bartholomew shares the story behind each one.
The seated tasting experience will be followed by a walk around wine & bites reception with Bartholomew featuring the seminar wines and others from the Broadbent Selections portfolio. A special commemorative edition of Wine Tasting, the inaugural book in Steven Spurrier's new Authors of Wine Series by Academy du Vin, may be purchased & signed by Bartholomew at the event. A limited number of bottles from the tasting will also be available to take home that day.
This very special afternoon will connect and inspire both enthusiasts and professionals alike. Please note that due to Michael Broadbent's age and health condition, he is unable to make public appearances and will not be present for this event.
