SPARK OF HOPE, was ideated by Courtney Sparks, when she found out her mother got out of a domestic violence situation. "I was caught so far of guard. Like how could this happen to her, she was the strongest woman." That's when she took action and created SPARK OF HOPE, a fundraiser for W.O.M.A.N. INC with food, raffles, and a live DJ.
"After building up the courage to leave her abuser, I wanted to help as much as I can. However, living in SF, money is tight for me as well, so I thought about a fundraiser to help raise some money to get her some toiletries and warm clothes for the winter in Ohio, while she transitions into a new life."
While she will be raising money for her mother, the rest of the proceeds will go towards W.O.M.A.N. INC., an organization for domestic abusive survivors.
SPARK OF HOPE will take place on December 8th, 2019 from 1-5pm at Gestalt 3159 16th St, San Francisco, CA 94103
