In just a year of existence, Chromatic Coffee has hit on something kind of explosive.
In addition to finding a niche in the crowded Bay Area coffee-scape, they have hosted crazy art-punk shows and vibrant poetry slams - and started the South Bay's own monthly Latte Art TNT (Thursday Night Throwdown) series that pits baristas against each other to create masterpieces in espresso and latte foam. Chromatic marks its first anniversary with a mini-Halloween costume party and their fourth edition of TNT. (Amulya Datla)

Host Hiver van Geenhoven wanted to provide an outlet for baristas, roasters, and coffee enthusiasts to share their passion for creating the perfect cup.
Competitors need only pay a small buy-in fee in order to compete - no formal training required. Judges will then eliminate baristas based on the execution of their latte art, in terms of creativity, aesthetics, color contrast, and more factors that overall judge the beauty of the art design and execution.
This series has already earned a stamp of approval from the Barista Guild of America as a Member Driven Event, further branding the South Bay TNT as a success within the national coffee community. (Amulya Datla)
