SOLIDARITY - Intersex Solidarity Day Celebration at Underground SF

We're thrilled to announce Solidarity, a new annual event celebrating Intersex Solidarity Day for intersex people, LBGTQIA+ folks, and their supporters. We're building a safe space for all people to gather, dance to gourmet electronic music, enjoy a variety of beverages, and celebrate life.
Our first event lands on Wednesday November 8th, 2023 from 7 p.m.-1 a.m. at Underground SF. Entry is free, but $5 donations to interACT are suggested at the door.

Intersex is an umbrella term for differences in sex traits or reproductive anatomy, including differences in genitalia, hormones, internal anatomy, or chromosomes. These differences may be present at birth, or may develop soon after. About 1.7% of people are born intersex, and 1 in 2,000 babies (0.05% of humans) are born with genital differences such that a doctor might suggest changing with unnecessary surgery. Solidarity will be encouraging donations to the non-profit intersex advocacy organization interACT, an organization focused on ending harmful medical interventions on intersex children. interACT is dedicated to the civil and human rights of children born with intersex traits, and remains committed to advancing this discussion with a sense of respect and compassion for the children, parents, doctors and intersex adults involved.

DJ Denise is a 25+ year veteran of the SF Bay Area music scene. She's played countless events from Miami to Hawaii and everywhere in between, spreading her unique energy and style. Her nonchalant fader flicks and mixer tricks combined with effortless beatmatching skills captivate her trainspotting fans. Nowadays you can find her playing various forms of house, techno & breaks while always curating a special set for each event.
Denise is an enthusiastic music producer with original productions & remixes dating back to 2007. Most recently you can find her music on InStereo Recordings, DJ Dan's record label. When she's not DJing or tinkering in the studio, you can find Denise working as an ER Nurse. It is evident that her mission in life is to save lives, both on and off the dance floor.

Hutchtastic is a queer and nonbinary vocalist, producer, DJ, multidisciplinary artist and Plump Records label boss based in Oakland California. Their work - spanning sculpture, installation, performance, music and most recently music videos - often focuses on the unruly body and how they can use their own fat body as an instrument of protest against societal norms, conservative values, and mainstream ideas of femininity and beauty. Aggressive in both color and content they aim to challenge viewers with images and concepts that may be uncomfortable, while simultaneously drawing them in with sparkly surfaces, seductive lyrics, a playful aesthetic and fat, bassy electronic beats.
