The Solano Yacht Club was founded in 1954 by a group of local boating enthusiasts for the purpose of promoting boating fellowship, improve boating safety, and provide boating facilities. In 2009, the club celebrated its 55th anniversary. More than fifty years later the club continues to thrive with the same philosophy and enthusiasm for boating and water activities.
The club is primarily a powerboat venue, but there are a few sailboat enthusiasts. On a given day when the prevailing southwesterly winds are blowing through the Suisun slough, you will see a few sailboats make their way back and forth from the south end to the north end of the marina waterfront.
