The pace of change in the workplace and the need for new skills are ever accelerating. Digitalization, IoT, AI and increased flexibility are just some of the drivers. What is needed is an educational strategy that can match this pace. There is new evidence that dual track vocational education - with apprenticeship at its core - has cracked the code. It is operated directly in companies that are driving innovation and as a result, puts the young workers where the technological development actually takes place and makes them part of it.
Since 2013, the City of Winterthur-Zurich has been hosting the International Congress on Vocational and Professional Education and Training where top leaders in the field from more than 80 nations meet to discuss the global impact of vocational and professional education and training. The U.S. has shown increasing interest in learning about the Swiss dual track apprenticeship model.
That is why we are offering a US West Coast Version of the congress in San Francisco to discuss the opportunities that dual track vocational education offers industry, educators and young job seekers.
Presented by House of Winterthur in cooperation with: Global Apprenticeship Network GAN, California Workforce Association, and Social Policy Research Associates SPR
