Grammy award winning DJ, producer, and remixer Louie Vega is widely recognized as one of the pioneers of house music. As one half of the legendary Masters at Work duo with Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez , Louie Vega has been influential in shaping the global house music scene since the early 90s with his mastery of deep and soulful sounds, seamlessly blending jazz, disco, funk, Latin, soul, African grooves, and more.
Louie Vega's musical output has come to define the genres of house and deep house with some of the most iconic voices of the last 30 years including Julie McKnight (Diamond Life), Lisa Fischer (Into My Life / Love Will Know), Arnold Jarvis (Life Goes On), Caron Wheeler (A New Day), and many powerful productions with Anané. His remixes have garnered worldwide acclaim, including his reimagining of Curtis Mayfield from 2005-one of seven Grammy nominations, and a win that further cemented his impact on the global scene. While he is a master in the studio, it is behind the DJ decks that his passion for music comes alive-Louie's presence is like none other.
The Signature Sounds Residency and Respekt Music are incredibly honored to be hosting Louie Vega in the main warehouse space at The Foundry on Saturday December 7.
