Shifting Pain to Ease Using Inquiry
A Lively, Playful Process of Exploration & Change
A lively, playful process of inquiry helps reshape our difficulty and pain into ease. Led by mindfulness teacher, Bernice Moore, the 4-step inquiry process guides us in reshaping our challenges into greater courage and confidence. Difficulty, illness, and pain can be debilitating and discouraging. They impact all walks of life and can make every day activities a struggle. The workshop Shifting from Ease to Pain Using Inquiry offers a process designed to create greater ease and resilience.
The workshop Shifting from Ease to Pain Using Inquiry, begins Friday evening, June 27th, at 7:00 pm, and ends Saturday, June 28th, at 5:30 p.m. Friday’s session is from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30, and Saturday’s session is from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The workshop takes place in the Studio at the Pacific Cultural Center, 1703 Seabright Avenue, in Santa Cruz, CA. The studio is wheelchair accessible and is behind the 2-story Pacific Cultural Center building. The workshop costs $70, and tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite: tickets . Tickets will also be available at the door.
“The inquiry process ‘Shifting from Ease to Pain’ is a playful way of engaging with our story†says Dr. Bernice Moore. “As we explore our story and listen to others, we gain greater insight and compassion. The group evokes compassion and playfulness that create opportunities for transformation and change. I have seen people emerge light-hearted and at ease at the completion this inquiry process; it’s as if a weight has been lifted from their heart.â€
Shifting from Pain to Ease Using Inquiry is a workshop that guides people through a 4-step process of exploring their own story, then sharing it with someone else. Participants experience another person’s story, and then work together to create more positive approaches for dealing with their difficulties. Possibilities emerge that provide more resilient and life affirming choices. Participants create a community as they talk together about what they are experiencing, providing support for transformation. The collective exploration awakens and deepens compassion for ourselves and others.
Shifting from Pain to Ease Using Inquiry is offered by Bernice Moore, Ph.D., founder of ICO Consulting, and founding partner of the Mindful Awareness Connection, a Santa Cruz based mindfulness education organization founded by Bernice Moore, Deborah Pembrook, and Hanna Tunkel, MA.
“I have found this process to be playful, helpful, and powerful,†says Dr. Moore. “I wanted to offer it to benefit those who are caught in cycles of difficulty, to help transform pain into greater ease and freedom.â€
