4 WEEK CLASS - Mondays, 7-9pm
In this physical acting class, students will excavate the gamut of Shakespearean Clowns, Fools, and Mythic Entities. Acting instructor Jamin Jollo will guide performers to develop their unique spins on traditional Fool and Clown archetypes through scenes and monologues from Shakespeare's greatest tragedies, comedies, and histories. This class will arm creators with tools to analyze scripts, craft dramatic narratives, and cast a physical point of view upon their audience. Actors will walk away with an analyzed, adapted "Fools" monologue, a deeper understanding of Shakespearean text, and insight into playing a duet clown scene in a "heightened language" play.
