Join us for SF Love Dojo's first Mindful Self Compassion (MSC) workshop taught by Dr. Ravi Chandra! Based on the research and teachings of Drs. Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer, this workshop will introduce life-changing self compassion principles, and teach exercises that will help you generate kindness towards yourself.
MSC has been shown to provide benefits to mental health, and I've certainly found it to be transformative. Even as a psychotherapist for many years, I found these specific practices and principles to vastly help in facing difficulty, stress and life's ongoing challenges.
Topics will include the theory and science behind Mindful Self Compassion, introduction of several key practices, and some small group/pair activities to help create a powerful day that will resonate with you for months or years to come. (If you're uncomfortable with any of the group/pair exercises, you can opt out and just practice individually. But I've found them all to be very helpful.) Even more than the practices, people have found the group experience of this workshop to be particularly meaningful.
Note this is a 2.5 hour workshop. A full 8 week workshop will be offered by SFLoveDojo.org in the fall. Sign up for a newsletter at the website.
Limited to 50 participants, but if the class is full, please sign up for the waitlist.
A limited number of sliding scale tickets are available. Please contact Ravi Chandra at
[email protected] for details.
Also, if you'd like copies of Dr. Chandra's books (Facebuddha: Transcendence in the Age of Social Networks or Guns Are Not Our God! The NRA Is Not Our Church) they will be available onsite. Just send Dr. Chandra an email to reserve a copy. (They will be $30 and donations of $5-10 respectively, with a portion of proceeds from the latter going to gun control and mental health organizations.)
