Celebrate 3rd i's eighteenth annual SF International South Asian Film Festival (Bollywood and Beyond) as a FREE virtual event with some of the best cinema from India, South Africa, UK and the USA. For this year's armchair edition, we reach back into our archives to showcase 3rd i classics, and bring back 3rd i alums with exciting new projects! We begin the festival with an homage to a cinematic treasure lost too soon - the impeccable Irrfan Khan, who starred in films such as THE LUNCHBOX, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, and LIFE OF PI. We shine a light on Diasporic filmmakers and performers who center racial justice and cross-cultural solidarity from a South African perspective, queer wisdom and comedy from a Pakistani-American perspective, and Hip-Hop stylings through a Sikh-American lens. Indie narratives take center stage at this year's festival, as do conversations with the filmmakers.
