The UC Berkeley Center for Race and Gender Islamophobia Research and Documentation Project (IRDP) invites you to join us free of charge at the Seventh Annual International Islamophobia Conference April 22-23, 2016 on the legendary Berkeley campus, the location with a reputation for activism and for challenging ideas and authority.
The conference’s theme, Islamophobia: Has a tipping point been reached?, is both a question for researchers and a statement reflecting the pervasiveness of bigoted discourses that problematize the category, Muslim and Islam in civil society. Speakers will examine Islamophobia from multi-disciplinary and transnational perspectives, so as to bring a more holistic understanding of the phenomena and the forces acting to sharpen the ongoing otherization of Muslims as a class.
The conference will highlight genres of scholarly and artistic production which includes Scholars, Researchers, Artists, Poets, Media Producers, Artists, Activists and Community Organizations to foment a mutli-medium engagement in the Islamophobia Studies field.
