Senior Adults Legal Assistance (SALA) is a nonprofit agency that has provided free legal services to Santa Clara County residents age 60 or older since 1973. SALA’s services are targeted to clients that are low income or at risk of abuse, isolation, or premature institutionalization. This presentation will discuss the legal problems facing elders in our community, the assistance that SALA provides, and how to access SALA’s services.
Michele Di Tano Schroeder received her law degree from UC Berkeley’s Boalt Hall in 1994. She has worked as an attorney with Senior Adults Legal Assistance (SALA) since 1995, and has been supervising attorney since 2003. In her years at SALA, she has assisted elders with a variety of legal issues, with a focus on issues affecting elders who are low income or at risk of abuse or premature institutionalization.
