HDSA Team Hope Run/Walk is the nonprofit, Huntington's Disease Society of America's (HDSA) signature grass-roots fundraising event, to help in the fight against Huntington's disease (HD) which takes place in over 100 communities across the country. Every year, thousands of families, friends, co-workers, neighbors and other constituents come together to run/walk, raise awareness and the much-needed funds to further HDSA's mission.
HDSA's mission is to improve the lives of people with Huntington's disease and their families by:
* Promoting and supporting research and medical efforts to eradicate HD.
* Assisting people and families affected by HD to cope with the problems presented by the disease.
* Educating the public and health professionals about HD.
The annual HDSA Team Hope 10K Run and 5K Walk usually held in Campbell Park cannot be held because of the "Shelter in Place" due to the Coronavirus.
The HDSA SF Bay Area Affiliate decided to hold a Virtual 10K Run & 5K Walk. HD a rare, fatal, genetic disease with NO CURE. Funds raised support local HD services; i.e. HD clinics at Stanford University and UCSF Medical Center, four (4) HD support groups and research.
It's FREE to register and when you individually raise $100, you'll receive a Team Hope t-shirt (mailed) & be eligible for even more great fundraising rewards/prizes. Donations are welcomed. Sign up now to participate in our virtual run/walk kickoff to raise money and awareness for HDSA mission programs in the San Francisco Bay Area community.
A virtual run/walk is a real event, but on your terms. You get to choose your own course. Now you can take part wherever you are...from the comfort and safety of your own home, around your yard, or run in your neighborhood or even on a treadmill. (following social distance guidelines, of course).
Free to register.
