SEE EVENT DETAILS
The Mayor of our Sister City Zurich, hon. Corinne Mauch, is visiting San Francisco to renew and strengthen the bond and exchange between our two cities.
Please join us in welcoming Mayor Mauch with this “Romance in the City” concert by Michelle Chang (Soprano) and Tim Eischens (Piano), where we musically explore all about Love, with oevres by Mendelssohn and Randy Newman.
Admission is free (ticket needed), donations are encouraged to help support the arts and culture exchange between San Francisco and Zurich.

Michelle Chang is an accomplished, European-trained opera singer and music educator with a rich international experience on stage and in teaching. She earned her Bachelor degree in Vocal Performance and a Master degree in Music Education at the University of Music and the Performing Arts in Heidelberg, Germany, followed by graduate courses in opera and art songs at the Music Conservatory of Zurich, Switzerland. She was a member of the professional chorus of the Zurich Opera House in Switzerland, co-founded the “Volksoper Zurich” and has been singing in countless concerts and operas in the USA, Europe and Asia. She lives in San Francisco where she performs and teaches the next generation of classical singers. She believes that “Life is better with Music!”.

Tim Eischens, accompanist, Tenor, performs throughout the Bay Area. Tim earned his BS degree in Music Education and Performance from Minnesota State University, Moorhead, The Mozarteum Conservatory, and The University of Salzburg, Austria. He continues his vocal studies with soprano, Susan Gundunas. Tim serves as the secretary of the board of directors at the Community Music Center in San Francisco’s Mission District helping raise funds for music students of all ages regardless of financial means.
