9AM-12:30PM  ESPRESSO & CAPPUCCINO BASICS - Beans and Grinder version
An excellent barista must start with the basics. To create a great cup of espresso the barista must understand all coffee transformation variables such as grinder adjustment, dosing and tamping.  Working in an intense hands-on setting, you will gain an intimate understanding of the variables of espresso and experience for yourself why espresso is the most complex preparation in the coffee industry.
In this course we will also delve into the basic techniques every excellent barista should know for proper milk steaming and pouring, which will pave the way for advanced latte art techniques (please see “Latte Art” class which requires this course as a pre-requisite)
This session guides students through fundamental espresso transformation variables and explores the basics of milk steaming and pouring.


*NOTE THAT THIS COURSE HAS A PRE-REQUISITE REQUIRED! ESPRESSO & CAPPUCCINO BASICS ABOVE
1:30PM-4:30PM LATTE ART & BEYOND (Prerequisite: Espresso & Cappuccino Basics) 
Coffee drinks can be beautiful. Using advanced pour techniques you can create a work of art that is not just a coffee drink. When “Latte art” technique is used, it becomes a vehicle for the beauty of the drink and a catalyst to begin an entertaining conversation with your guests. Becoming a barista of the highest level also requires experimenting with syrups and other ingredients that will complement the coffee and delight guests.
This session refines the techniques for steaming and pouring milk as well as practicing popular specialty drinks that are in demand by customers. It is designed to transform ordinary baristas into extraordinary professional baristas who are able to create high quality coffee beverages with a touch of art.
We will have a special cold brew tutorial during this session that will review preparation and specialty drinks to take you cold brew offerings to the next level.
