San Francisco Bicycle Coalition: 49-Mile Scenic Ride

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Come play tourist for a day and enjoy the sights of our city the best way possible: by bicycle!

Inspired by the classic 49-Mile Scenic Drive, this intermediate-level casually-paced ride rolls past a plethora of San Francisco’s iconic attractions and neighborhoods, including the Painted Ladies, Twin Peaks, North Beach, Great Highway, Mission Dolores, and of course the Golden Gate Bridge.

This full-day event includes a midday on-your-own lunch stop in Golden Gate Park and post-ride celebration, including a free beer for each rider, thanks to Fort Point Beer Company, at the Ferry Building.

Details:
-Meet on the Polk Street steps of City Hall at 8am for an 8:30am roll out
-This intermediate skill level ride is 49 miles with 2,600ft of elevation gain. We’ll ride at a 10mph average pace.
-Bring/carry your own lunch or plan to purchase lunch at one of a few food kiosks located behind the Music Concourse in Golden Gate Park
-Be sure to bring at least one water bottle, layers, lights for your ride home, and tools to fix a flat (hopefully not needed – but just in case!)
-This is an inclusive event and all are welcome!

In need of a bike for this ride? City Ride Bike Rentals (370 Linden St. in Hayes Valley) is offering a 50% discount on road and hybrid bikes, meaning $24 for a Specialized road bike or $19 for a Specialized hybrid bike. Bike needs to be picked up on Friday, 10/27 since City Ride Bike Rentals does not open until after the ride departs on Saturday morning. Use the code “49Miles” to save. All rentals come with helmet, lock and map.
